    What I want to know is...from the previews of Season Two that I have seen, Darken Rahl is mentioned as Richard's brother, but in the books, he is Richard's father. Are the writers of the show using some MAJOR creative licenses to completely alter the story or will we get some actual stories that stick to the books? I'm more than confused.

    The writers of the show are up front about taking some liberties with the story. They wanted to do so in order to add an element of surprise for those familiar with the books. Shifting Richards relations with Rahl does appear to be a big change but I'm curious to see if they can still stay true to the elements and the spirit of the story in the books. What do you think: Does changing Richard and Rahl's relations to each other has an impact on the spirit of the story?
